Closing an account

Closing your account from overseas.
Account closure request by post for customers who already left Japan will not be accepted.
However there are alternative ways to clear your account and receive the account balance instead of closing your account.

【If your remaining balance is 10,000 yen or more (or equivalent in foreign currency)】
・Overseas remittance request by post to receive the account balance by fund transfer

The currency can be selected from the currencies available in the PowerFlex account.
The overseas remittance service fee is 4,000 yen which will be deducted from the account balance.
After the account is cleared, the account will be blocked.

For this option, please contact Shinsei PowerCall.

【If your remaining balance is less than 10,000 yen(or equivalent in foreign currency)】
・When you have an opportunity to visit Japan please vist the branch to withdraw the funds and close your account.
Please contact the call center to before visiting.

*Customers will be required to submit their Individual Number (also called "My Number") to process the request mentioned above.
If you have not submitted documents to verify your Individual Number when you were in Japan, please confirm the information with one of our representatives at Shinsei PowerCall (Call center).
