Am I eligible to open an account?

The Shinsei PowerFlex account is available for customers residing in Japan and only one account is allowed per customer.
The following conditions are required for potential account holders:

●Potential customers must be residents of Japan.
PO box addresses will not be accepted.

●Own a personal Japanese contact (telephone) number.
The phone number at your workplace or someone else's phone number will not be accepted.

●For our international customer's: The following requirement for status will also apply for our international customers. (Customer's must satisfy either category A or B)

A) Those who have "Permanent Resident", "Spouse or Child of Japanese National" , "Spouse or Child of Permanent Resident" visa status.

OR

B) International customers who have resided in Japan for over 6 month's or more, OR working in a company with a office located in Japan.
* This excludes part-time jobs.

In addition, please also be aware of the following:

●Please note joint accounts and corporate account services are not available at Shinsei Bank.

●Customer's who are classified as Foreign Politically Exposed Persons will be required to open their account in person at the branch.

●Please note that the identification documents for customers who are ever 20 years old will differ from customers who are under 20 years old.
